Drones are cool. Finding a place to fly them is not.

The knock at the door comes about 10 minutes after landing the DJI Mavic Air drone I’d been flying.

“The drone,” says the man, my next-door neighbour I have never met until now. “It scared my wife and made her drop the washing. You were flying it over our property too.”

I jump to the usual defence: “I’m a journalist. I’m flying it to review it!” I respond.

When I explain to him that I also wasn’t filming his wife, nor was I flying over his property, he seems OK. But it does make me question whether I was actually flying it to the spirit of the law.
